Coloring projects

Galaxy Butterfly

So this weekend I was at my in-laws’ place and I’d brought some coloring supplies to occupy my hands and color whenever the mood struck me. I brought Small Victories and my travel artbag which contained about 10 Inktense pencils, some Distress Crayons as well as a number of gel and paint pens.

I got to work on this cute page while we were in Frisia. I’m slowly getting to know my Inktense pencils and boy do I absolutely LOVE them! On this page I activated them with my Tombow blender, which gave me incredible control over the water flow and made the colors come to life! So cool!

I enjoyed being a little fast and loose with this page and not add too much shading after laying down two to three layers with my Inktense and I very much love how this turned out.

Tools used:

  • Background: Distress crayons used dry, white Posca paint pen, silver Artistro paint pen, 05 white Gelly Roll
  • Basing: n/a
  • Pencil work: Derwent, activated with a Tombow colorless blender
  • Other media: white Posca paint pen and silver Artistro paint pen for small details
